Nayan Parekh

Executive Director and President of Nilkamal Ltd.

Mr. Nayan Parekh is Executive Director and President (Material Handling) of Nilkamal Ltd. Nilkamal Ltd., a publicly traded company on the Bombay Stock Exchange, with a turnover of over 300 million USD is one of the leading plastic processing companies in India. With a processing capacity of over 75000 Metric Tonnes per annum, it is a leading manufacturer of Material Handling concept solutions for industries and Moulded Furniture for homes and offices.

An alumnus of University of Massachusetts, Lowell where he studied Plastics Engineering, Mr. Parekh is responsible for the Material Handling Division, which caters to material storage, movement and retrieval needs of industries. This Division makes up for more than 50% of Nilkamal Ltd.’s annual revenues. The balance comes from the Group’s Furniture division. He is also a promoter of this family owned Group company.

When he joined Nilkamal more than 20 years ago, the Material Handling division was a big brand manufacturing crates and bins in different dimensions, for many industrial applications. This young entrepreneur knew that industries were looking for more than crates; they wanted pallets on which crates could be stacked and moved, material handling equipment to move the pallets and metal racks to stack the pallets. Today, Nilkamal provides all these solutions – many of them customised – to over 30,000 customers across India annually in the automotive, engineering, dairy, e-commerce, fisheries, FMCG, logistics, textile, hospitality & various other segments.

With 8 plants in India manufacturing these solutions by different plastic processes such as injection moulding, rotational moulding, blow moulding, roll forming processes and a direct sales team of 350+ sales people selling these across all industrial belts in the country, Nilkamal is now a leading material handling solution provider in India.

He considers himself fortunate to have a supportive soulmate in Purvi, his wife of 20 years. They have a son, Dhanay who is in his first year in Babson College pursuing the Entrepreneurship program and a daughter, Dhaniti aged 13 years.

Travelling with family and friends, trying out new cuisines, music (listening to and singing) are what he likes.

He is a committee member of office of National Liver Foundation of India, which offers awareness and prevention of liver diseases.
