Swetal Patel is a second generation, South Asian Indian American. Born and raised in Chicago, he helps manage his family business, “Patel Brothers“– a popular chain of Indian grocery stores operating in several major American cities. Swetal started working with “Patel Brothers” at an early age and has been involved with the family business for 32 years.

Swetal’s family had founded Patel Brothers in 1974 in a small storefront on Devon Avenue, Chicago’s Little India.

e sights, sounds, even scents of spices built the little stores identity, and with the help of uncles and cousins, the Patel Brothers’ little store grew into stores. For the next two decades Patel Brothers’ went into a nationwide expansion in metropolitan areas. In 1991, Raja Foods, a distribution spin o was established, quickly followed by SWAD, Patel Brother’s primary brand. SWAD has emerged as the largest selling Indian food brand in the USA.

From the humble beginnings sweeping the stock room – to today as Vice President of Sales, Swetal realized that his job is truly his passion.Apart from Sales, Swetal also oversees Product development and go to market strategies at Patel Brothers.
